Bai Mu Dan (白牡丹), or “White Peony,” is a type of Chinese white tea that sits between delicate silver needle and heartier green teas. It’s a mix of silvery, downy buds and young green leaves and is the second-highest grade of white tea produced after Silver Needle White tea.
The liquor is pale gold with a fresh, slightly floral aroma. Expect a mellow sweetness, soft hay or melon notes, and a faint nutty undertone.
